--> so here's a couple of pictures of my new studio layout, which is a significant improvement on the old layout ie - i just trew out 6 bags of rubbish.

On the conveyer tonight:
genelec 8030 monitors
yamaha mg10/2 mixer
behringer bcr2000
m-audio trigger finger
roland sh-32
roland juno-6(on loan)
vestax pdx-2000 and pmc03a mixer
homemade windoze box 3ghz w/m-audio "audiophile" soundcard
ibook g3 w/edirol fa66 interface
m-audio pulsar micsx2
v. small collection of african percussion
gameboy
sony air-7 radio receiver
software:
ableton live 4
audiomulch
numerology

it's all quite cheap'n'cheerful. apart from the monitors - but they weren't too pricey. the room itself is odd acoustically. tatami floor makes it dead down low but the wallpapered wooden ceiling makes weirdly reflective also.

looks nice, i wish i could get my studio sorted and everything all hooked up together at once.

wow, I wish I had a tatami floor. One of the benifits of living in japan I guess.

i want an sh-32. they look super cool.

It's more fun to look at/sit on tatami than it is to clean it or pay for it. And god help you if you spill a chocolate milkshake...

That is a tiny little keyboard you have there. Is that for a laptop?

That looks like a Newton Keyboard to me.

uhm. sexy juno 6.

hot

what do you need all that stuff for ?
so, seriously.. are there shijo (is that the right spelling?) screens in all japanese apts?

tell me about it,, i don't have the space, or the cables, or the inputs on my mixer, or the non-laziness to get my studio straightened out.

I'm actually just waiting til I win the lottery so i can buy a building, and put all the nicest gear in there, and pay somebody to clean up for me.. and sort through cables too.

I'm not sure what brand that keyboard is, but there's a popular mini keyboard brand called "happy hacking" keyboards. They look pretty nice to me, especially if you don't have much desk space.

those are cool.

i like this one link

shoji screen.. and yes, a lot. they are for changing clothes and privacy. i had one.

yeah celibacyclub, i've always had a thing for unmarked keyboards too. I think I would probably scratch the letters off an old one with a razor first though to see how well I can handle it, before spending the money on a nice crisp one like that.
