hows it going EM411?
this blog is for announcing the crappiest piece of equipment you've ever owned.
mine: Roland D2 groovebox.
why: ugly early-'90s orange paintjob. the junky d-pad feature was nowhere near excting as the kaoss pad and also replaced the mini-keyboard (and the spinback effect was total cheese). only phono and 1/8" jacks. had the general midi claps and gunshots (seriously like WTF?). and the worst part about it is that the machine didn't have enough processing power to play a pattern and mess with the effects at the same time - it would glitch up everytime you tried to do something mildly processor-intensive.
worst buy EVER.

M-Audio Quattro, hands down.
I still use it though. They eventually released a driver that actually worked under Windows...A YEAR AFTER I BOUGHT THE GODDAMNED THING.

I had an alesis midiverb for a bit then sold it. Everything sounded colored though it. The same crappy wierdness was present in every preset. I think it was 12-bit. Might be cool for digital retro-ness, but back then I was playing guitar through it and it was not good.

LOL! I would say the Akai S5000 before the version 2 OS update. Crashed constantly and actually corrupted the internal hard disk partition three fucking times before I pulled it and used an Iomega Zip.
Speaking of Iomega, anyone ever have one of those Jaz drives? Biggest overpriced POS computer hardware ever. The first one I had just failed to get past its powerup routine after a few weeks and the second one spit out part of its spinlock mechanism when ejecting a Jaz cartridge.

roland eg-101. worst idea ever. I should have known by the fact that it had speakers built in, but it was my first keyboard and I was an idiot. SHOOT! BANG!!! it didn't even let you record your own patterns. I tried to figure out how to control it through cakewalk, but it was basically a pile of junk.
they pulled it from the market shortly after I bought one. I replaced it with a jx-305, which, while junky, has stayed with me for years.

I remember a similar thread on the old site. The answer is the same - Kawai K1. Most uninspiring 'synthesiser' ever! Only used it as a controller keyboard.

wow! sounds SWEET!! ;)
rm1x - a bit weird...but once you get used to it .... the sequencer is fucking COOL! esp for live stuff.....and you can do some really neat tricks with the midi effects.
.... ONLY if you are NOT using the onboard sounds cos they suck so much youd think it was a limpet!! i mean they are really bad. ive not used another groovebox type thing tho so maybe they are good for groovebox standard...but man they are bad!!!
su10 is crappy....but crappy in a good way. i love the glitchy 'scratch' effect...and the filter! lol
...and the output has so much hiss its laughable..
...and the 'sequencer'!?!?! HAHAHA it only just qualifies as a sequencer!
but you have 12 pads/4 banks which can all send a different midi note....really good for triggering clips in ableton live!!!

aside from the noisebox I'm currently building, I'd say my shitty kaysound keyboard.
