--> Anyone on em411 playing this? Is there a em411 Guild yet, LOL!

I just bought it on saturday, after getting sick of Shadowbane, and I must say so far I'm really impressed by the graphics and social interation.

The problem I have with regular MMORPG's is that unless you start near the release date, you''l never be able to progress without getting bullied by the big-boy's who have been playing for three years and are at lvl70. I had this problem with Eve-Online. I spent the whole time mining for hours at a time to get a few quid to upgrade, only to get pounded by some huge cruiser!

I have it, but i never play solo. I got kinda bored with it. I've only got 1 friend who plays and he's rarely on.

Speaking of starting near the release date, NC's Tabula Rasa looks pretty fun. I might jump on that one when it comes out.

Well, if you wanna meet up in GW, emmail me.

I'm already far too addicted to Oblivion, thank you;)

I'm waiting for Titan Quest, because I'm an ancient history nerd.

I love oblivion, but I got stuck on a quest and got frustrated... I finally got past that part and now I'm well on my way to finishing the main quest. I already did the mage's guild, but I'll have the fighters, theives, and assasins left still to do. It's a smaller world, but there's just as much to do compared to good old Morrowind.

yeah... well, it's smaller but richer, I guess... if you look at your map after a while, it's packed with discovered locations
I left the main quest after Kvatch, did the Figthers', Mages, most of the side quests, half the daedric, and I'm into the Brotherhood
95 hours and running on, I'm trying to lay off the damn game these days, eheh

I got to level 20 and now it seems I cant really advance any farther in stats, plus all the equipment drops have been made obsolete, and none of the monsters have been challenging for a few days... so I've kinda set Oblivion aside... which is too bad, there's still soooo many quests to do and places to go... it just got kinda homogenous and unchallenging for awhile and now I'm all meh.
I wanted to start a new chararcter so I could do the brotherhood quest, too, it sounded cool.
But I read on the forums my next step is to close 10 oblivion gates in a row. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I have yet to check out Elder Scrolls

I hated every first-person RPG i ever touched until oblivion.
Why don't you try raising the difficulty bar?
Simple and effective

I'm still uncertain whether I prefer Oblivion or Morrowind... but it's great game anyway

There are some great mods for the combat in oblivion. There's one that makes the enemies way more tactical. They'll hide behind stuff and heal when low on health, in addition to using their abilities more wisely. I enjoy just about every mod in this list: link

the great thing about the Elder Scrolls game is the way you can customise the game to your liking
I mean, some people want realism mods and combat mods, and some like me prefer the story and exploration aspect and don't want to bother too much with fighting (which I can do on a regular FPS)
and of course everybody's right

i heard oblivion was really buggy, no?

I've also heard it crashes all the time on anything less than a 3GHz machine, which would suck as I've got a 2.8GHZ P4

Is it a subscription game?

Well, my 2 cents is that it isn't anymore bugged than any new game
Some people encounter bugs, especially on the localised european versions
As for myself, I've experienced 3 crashes to desktop in almost 100 hours of game, and I'm running more than 25 mods

No it's a solo game only, no multiplayer whatsoever

I have a very old P4 2.2 ghz and a newish eVGA 6800 gt, and it runs ok. I only get a periodic crash after quitting the game and have only had mid-gaming crashes twice. It does slow down from time to time because I insist on keeping my graphics settings in the mid-range, but it's totally playable.
