still need a wrapper for VST plugs. not too big of a deal as most OS X VSTs are also available as AU.
Looks like it has TDM support as well, was that a feature before?
The snap-to-transient selection is very handy too.

TDM support had been there for years. you just have to have digi TDM hardware.
I don't understand one thing... is that Logic Pro 8 inside that 500$ or is it like "Studio" version, ie. Cubase Studio (cheaper version of real version).
"Logic Studio" includes the full Logic Pro 8, Soundtrack Pro 2, Main Stage and all the peripheral stuff for $500.
Really sweet.
I wonder if I would have an audio track, I would cut out a part and copy it to another track, then if I would reverse that small part... would it make a copy of it or reverse it in its original file too.... it used to be that way in Logic, but made another file in Cubase (which I like about cubase)... if it has gone more advanced I'd defenately buy it and forget cubase. taavi - i guess what you mean is destructive vs. non-destructive editing? i'm pretty sure logic is non-destructive, like ProTools.
populus, I don't really know what is Pro Tools like. In logic 7 you must copy paste a wave file and then reverse or do whatever you want to do to it, otherwise it would do the changes also in the original file. That's what I mean. I don't know what that feature is called.
Ok, I got the point and read the manual of Logic Pro 8... it seems that there aren't many non-destructive commands.
That's a pretty sweet deal for those who don't have Logic yet.
amzing...
I'm so freaking out about this. I've been an Lpro user for years and this is like the biggest thing ever. Even the 6-7 upgrade wasn't this cool.
It'll be interesting to see if the TDM stuff actually *works*. TDM support has been there since L5.5 (IIRC) but it's been buggy as hell. not that I bother with TDM, but...a lot of big studios do. I see lots of improvements here.. logic 7 is probably my LEAST favorite program to use. Logic Studio looks like it has tons of cool shit.
logic 7 gave me eyeball herpes.
im super excited. wow, includes sculpture and the other plugs at that price? noice.
