thread starter link Apparently there are no upgrades for longtime logic users, just thouse that have bought after August 2007! And it's 500 smackers! Damn them to hell.

and god dammit it says there's upgrades for registered users:

watch the quicktime video tour. that comping feature and multi-take recording improvements in itself are deal clinchers. throwing in soundtrack2 and the mainstage app are bonuses.
anyway- for logic users it's a good day mostly... delay designer.. sweet. yes it has a convolution reverb and they bundled all those instruments w/it ages ago.. i think in logic 6 right?

either on big blue lounge or kvr some people have said that upgrades are possible for versions all the way back to logic gold 5. browse those two threads. Should I get Logic or stick with Ableton?
Logic is much better for midi-editing, and has amazing instruments and plugins that it ships with. I guess the answer to that question relies on how you want to use your application.
insanity. . . is anyone NOT going to buy logic at that price?
