i know a good ASIO driver pretty much solves the issue, but are there any decent usb interfaces out there that get lower latency?

i'd get another firewire but i want to be able to buss power and my laptop only has a 4pin (is there anyway to buss power anything from a 4pin?)

i'm getting weird crap from my stock laptop soundcard (sigmatel p.o.s.) where it lags and pukes and skips and crap, it sucks, it sounds like this: link when i record

even better are there any internal upgrades? i have a Dell, do they do that sort of thing?

yea, if ur on a dell whatever you do, don't get a friggin firewire unit. It will fuck up a lot and make u kill yrself. There's an issue with the mobo they haven't addressed.. it's stupid.

but yea. as far as usb goes.. the edirol ones seem to be pretty good for the price. the ua-101 has 10 inputs and outputs i believe.

oh yah i should've mentioned, i only 2ins (stereo) and maybe like 4 outs, would be nice if i could use the outs simultaneously too (i use live7 predominantly)
