if i try to use my apogee symphony interface simultaneously with my motu 828mkII firewire interface on my mac? i've created a consolidated audio device in audio/midi setup and it shows up in live. but before i retire my hardware mixer for good i'm wondering if there are any issues that might crop up or prove to be a pain in the ass. latency, for instance?

some ppl on the Ableton forum report no problems.

But one of the Ableton guys often says no.

It is very likely that soundcards will loose sync when using Aggregate device, which is what happens to you I guess.

We don't suupport Aggregate Device, as its scope is much lager than Live.

Amaury said: "Hi,

Do you use some aggregate device or such? Is there any such 'device' turned ON in the Audio/MIDI setup?

The driver error compensation is meant to correct a wrong value that a sound card would report to the OS. Some quality cards report just the right value for their latency, and so there is no need to set Driver Error Compensation. Some card don't, and we offer to correct it. But a 'changing' error sound strange. At least, we would hear from the people owning the same computer as yours, as it is quite popular. That is why I would think the problem lies somewhere else.
