hey my friendly em four wun wunners* I got sum questions regarding a motu 2408mk3 interface, which I just purchased from the lovely sweetwater, and how to go about using it with cubase sx3.
ok so question one. this is sort of hard to explain. is there any way to monitor or basically record audio that is being played out of other applications in cubase? I used to do this with my old set up involving a tascam tm d1000 mixer and the pci822 card. it was a strange situation because the way it worked was anything that my mixer had coming out of the mains was also received in cubase and could be recorded. that shit was all janky fucked up tho. the drivers for it never really worked properly. now I've got this motu 2408mk3 and I am hoping maybe I can do it this again. there must be a way. yeah?
question two. how do I go about sending tracks of audio that are running in cubase to the individual outs on the motu.. and how do I go about setting up specific channels to receive from specific inputs on the motu? I have been able to record in from each input on the motu by opening up a preset template in cubase. but I have not been able to figure out how to set this up my self.
any advice would be super duper appreciated as I am sure most of you know, not being able to figure shit like this out can be sooooo frustrating you'd almost chop your own dick off just to get it working. (I cant believe I spent four years with that tascam situation.. my blood is already starting to boil just thinking about it)
