you could use emulators and record your own.

you could also buy nanoloop for the gameboy and sample it..

SID STATION!

have fun
link

you can get all the original nintendo (and other systems) MIDI files on teh torrentz reel quick like.
i have most of them just email me and i 'll up them to a server.

this guy wants samples, not vsts... i think
try this, you'll probably need something to record straight off yer computer, like a stereo mix capture

was messing about with my micromodular earlier, trying to get SID style drums out of it.

here an mp3 of it : link

you could cut the drum sounds out of that if you like.

wow it sounds rad Quaalude ! it's really only micromodular there ?? that tiny little thing seems really interesting
u could also draw some simple low res waveforms in a wave editor.

yeah, its only nord micro. just a single patch i knocked up in a few minutes to test getting SID-style drums. its basically a couple square-wave oscs and a noise osc hooked to step-sequencers (running at v fast rate) controlling the pitch etc. imo the key to chiptune sounding stuff is emulating the programming, modulation is 'stepped' at a quick rate (up to 50/60hz - or divisions of that frequency)

you could hook up the same thing in reaktor easily enough.

or in max/msp i guess.

thx for the tips.

If you just wanna rip some quick samples.. check out audiooverload. Lets you play many different system roms and the best thing about it is you can mute the channels. so a gameboy is 2 pulse one triangle and noise. All it does is play the roms.

Tweakbench has some stuff that may interest you: Peach is an NES sample-based synth, and Toad is an NES sample-based drum machine. Cool stuff. There's also Triforce, which is just a synth, but it does a good job of NES-esque low-bit sounds. Lots of other great stuff, but those specifically will be useful.
