I'm selling my black MPC 1000 in good condition maxed out with the following extras:

100GB Hard Drive (Seagate Momentus 5400.3) with 5-year warranty ($100 value)
Akai HDM-10 Hard Drive Adapter Kit ($30 value)
Akai EXM128 128MB RAM Expansion Card ($150 value)
JJ OS 2 Operating System ($90 value, since it requires JJ OS 1 which is $40 and JJ OS 2 which is $50. Both OS 1 and OS 2 have been purchased and installed for this MPC (meaning all future updates are free) and you can dual-boot between both operating systems). JJ OS is an essential upgrade which gives the MPC1000 the features of more expensive MPCs such as MPC2500 and MPC4000. JJ OS 2, for example, adds features like ADSR and key groups.

great piece of gear, but just a little over my budget and a little too soon for me

great price. surprised it's not been grabbed by someone. JJOS is the bomb.

asked the wife what would happen if i spent over 750 bucks on a new piece of gear...she smacked me.

sounds like foreplay.

Have you watched the news lately?

I also think buying a used 1000 is risky due to the bad pads. I think people know about that.

news?

it's easy to tell which ones have bad pads. the blue ones and the first few hundred of the black ones have the older pads. the ones w/good pads sort of peel up on the corner if you try to lift them. there's a long thread about it on the mpc forums some place.

besides.. replacing the pads is like $200 and is pretty easy.

$750 for a black MPC1000 w/the JJOS and a HD and ram upgrade is a steal.

i heard the pads are an annoying problem, but easily remedied. If he's got the ram maxed and jjos on there then it's still an ok deal even without the pads being new/ fixed, but honestly these have been going for around 500 stock. JJOS is free, from what i understand so I don't know what the draw is there -- basically anyone can go download it, but that ram upgrade is about 200$ i think. Also the internal hdd is something not usually seen in a lot of the units being sold on teh bay.

the free version of JJOS is free! V1 is $40 and V2 is $50, as he said. its a great deal, ffs.
if i didn't already have one, i'd buy it. it's a very fair price.

exactly, and you have to buy V1 to get V2.
a new MPC1K is $1000.
JJOS2 $90
RAM $100+
HD $100+
HD braket $30

so basically you are getting a $1300ish machine for $750. that's a good deal.

btw- i don't know who mutate is and never met or anything like that so don't know shit about this MPC other than the price is right.

so, yeah, if i didn't already have one i'd buy it too

fuck I would pounce on this shit but the timing is way bad. motherfuck. oh well, someone should snatch this up for sure!

Yes, the news. As in what happens to people other than you. You are not familiar with it in your self-centered world?

I don't want to argue about the sale of this MPC1000. You said you were surprised no one's bought it, and I explained to you why that is. People are worried about money. It's a bad time to sell things.

glad i invested into lots of tb303s back in the 80s

get off your soap box. i asked a simple question and you accuse me of being self centered. honestly i thought you were talking about my "foreplay" comment.
