hello everyone, i am having trouble opening the drum kits on my k2000, i have no idea how to open them. once in the preset mode i can access all the preset sounds but the drum kits. each kit name is in brackets (industrial kit) for example and will not allow me to access it.
can any one tell me how to open the kits?
thank you

The way it works on the K2000 is that you can only use drum maps on the channel designated as the drum channel. The parameter is on the main "Master" page, labeled "DrumChan", it can be any channel you want, default is 8 I believe. You can get the manual from the Kurzweil site, here: link
i can see how to chose the channel, but once chosen how to i access that channel? i havent found anything in the manual on how to chose what channel im accessing, i can hit the program button but that simply takes me to the list of preset sounds with the drum kits blocked, it simply takes me around in circles ,
Use the CHAN/BANK buttons to the left of the LCD. The display shows which channel you're currently on in the upper right if you're on the Program screen.
thank you synthgeek, also, can use akai samples on the k2000? im looking for realalistic drum kit sounds. the k2000s kinda cheesy in the snare drum department.
Yep, it can read Akai samples.
I used to make drumkits as keymaps on my Akai S2800, and then transfer the program and samples to my Kurzweil K2VX. This way you get around the single drum channel limit. I believe Kurzweil has been able to read Akai format since OS version 2.
