Ensoniq EPS sends crappy midi?
em411.com forums : Machines : drum machines, synth boxes and other EM machines thread starter I got me an Ensoniq EPS a few weeks ago, it works beautifully except one thing. Certain devices in my setup refuses to recognize any information from the MIDI out port.
When I connect the EPS directly to my Dark Energy, my Micromodular, my Midisport 2x2 or the midi in of my Saffire LE, none of them recognize any midi information at all. Nada. Nothing. It's like there's nothing coming out of the EPS at all. But, if I unplug any of these devices, plug the midi cable into my MPC1000 it works without any hassle at all. Midi is sent, note on off, velocity, aftertouch, modwheel etc. No problems at all. I can use the Soft thru on the MPC to connect the EPS to all the other gear as long as the MPC is in between. This is not a cable issue, I've tried several and as I've used the same cables between the EPS and MPC and gotten it to work just fine there's something else that's wrong here. Also, it's not a midi channel issue, I send from the EPS on channel 1, receive on channel 1 on the MPC, no problems. When setting up the Micromodular or Dark Energy to receive on channel 1, nothing happens. Also, when connecting to the Midisport 2x2, the midi input activity light flashed when the cable is pluged in, but then it stays dead. So, why is the MPC getting all this info but none of the other devices seem to care at all? What can I do to fix this? kind regards Signup to comment
