--> hey, i'm attempting to set up jsynthlib on my macbook, for use with my yamaha tx81z.

i've downloaded and installed mandolane, and configured jsynthlib as best i can..

but, i'm still unable to establish a connection between my tx81z and my midi interface(edirol um-880).

the "send to" and "play note" menu options are greyed out, so there's something not right..

also, i had attempted to use the nomad nord modular editor on my macbook, which also required mandolane, but while i could get the editor to see the NM, anytime i moved a parameter in the editor, it would freeze up.

could it be that mandolane(which enables java to use midi, btw) is just f'ed up? or am i missing something within jsynthlib?

this is driving me crazy; any help muuuuch appreciated!

hey, caaaannnttt help buuuuttt spend aaaaaallllllll my daaaaayyyy doing thisssssss, pleeeeeeeez help me, wil be muuuuch appreciated;)

To use Mandolane you need to configure JSynthlib like this:
- Ensure that the Midi interface is plugged into your computer BEFORE you start JSynthlib.
- From the Jsynthlib menu select Config > Preferences > Midi (tab)
- Set up the combo boxes as follows:
-- Midi Access Method: JavaSound [ignore any references to 1.4.2]
-- Run Startup Initialisation on Midi Ports: midi device name <MOut:0>
-- and: midi device name <MIn:0>
-- Receive from Master Controller on Midi Port: midi device name <Min:0>

Do NOT select Mac OS X access method as it doesn't appear to work (and crashes out the program on my MacBook)

Good luck

oh wow, i had given up on this! thanks mandolane, and if you are indeed the creator of said app, thanks for creating it!

i'll post back when i try to get it working again..
