--> I'm interested in generative/algorithmic art, but it seems like it's usually visually/conceptual biased.

Aside from Autechre, I haven't come across much enjoyable/listenable/impressive work in the field of generative/algorithmic music...

it just sounds clever in interviews!

lol.

but even in the interviews they always say, that there of course generatiove processes involved, but also a lot of normal sequencing work.

i like their interviews. far better then interviews with other warp artists. though others are more funny sometimes

Ah, I always forget about this. I know the guy that made it, I visited him at Parsons once. (www.johnnowak.com)

'normal' sequencing can be generative in a sense- like step sequencing according to a system of rules- you dont really know what its going to be like until you press play

ah prick on the native instruments forum he was from time to time. but a blissed programmer aswell

dig through link - there is some seriously crazy stuff in there. Mostly focused on live coding, but since livecoding is all about algorythmic generation of sounds, I think it fits into this catagory.

I find this intresting, just checked out the possibilities of writing midi files with PHPprogramming, and there is actually a class for it, might get started doing some scripts

I found this dsl for writing midi called musicPad a while back: link pretty nuts. Written in perl, if you are in for that kind of thing.
