--> what would you class as a cool demo response? does anyone ever just say "thats fantastic can we talk about a deal?"

i just had a demo checked out by kranky and they said it sounds okay and do i have anything else i want to send them. is that good. or is that just ok?

i have had some of that from labels asking for more stuff for some older projects of mine, but nothing ever happened. im excited because this is a new thing of mine, and it seems to be going down really well. i really hope this works out. so much. i love kranky.

sorry, im just excited

I know I am. in a way it was a good kick in the but. I had been meaning to send something to kranky for months but never summed up the courage. did so yesterday.

nicely done!
good luck with this great news

peace

Good news, hope it goes somewhere.

LoRecordings asked me for more when I sent them a track last year. Then I updated my OS and was locked out of Reason for 6 months and couldn't send them any. I'd be dictating this to my PA in the back of my Hummer if that hadn't happened.

When people say It sounds like it could be on the radio quality wise.. but minus the cliches of radio, that feels good. Because what we hear on the radio is a product of millions of dallars for production alone, I produce my stuff with my 1,000 set up, lol. I could easily write songs for the radio, but I cant force myself to be that cliche. Girl I miss you, girl I love you, its lame.

I'd say if they asked for more its always a good thing!!!

good for ya. i think its a "template statement" which makes business work sometiems.
Well "we'll take a listen and see.." followed by "...got more?" ...
could mean they wanna know if you'll have a next album or
if you're prepared to dish out or if they'll have to work on you.
low maintenance for the label to keep working?
or that they just wanna take you and your whole back catalog unsigned as of yet.
could be the start of a real good thing!

just sent my demo off to planet-mu. a long shot, but figured i would give it a go.
"Do you have any additional material?" is a kind way of saying, "Do you have anything better than this?"

Which is good news if you have a few albums worth of better material.

na i think its more of a way of saying......"do you have more stuff that is as good or have you only written two good tracks?"....but maybe im wrong. otherwise everyone would get that when sending in a demo wouldn't they?

Great news, Kranky's a fine label. Good luck!

My vote is any well known label taking the time to respond at all is a good thing. Many times you're lucky just to get listened to.

An invitation to send additional material seems a very positive thing.

Good luck.

yeah, sounds good to me. i almost died of sadness when ai didn't respond to my demo.

I guess that's pretty good. Usual responses tend to be silence.

congradulations!
