love repulsion + night of the hunter. just picked up straw dogs on dvd a while ago. criterion did a great job repackaging it.
Yay! Another Night of the Hunter fan! !!! That's my favorite movie in the world, absolutely in the entire world. I watch it at least once every two or three months! I even have a cd with Charles Laughton reading the story with the music of the film as accompaniment. If you don't have it I could hook you up.

Yeah, I loved Repulsion. Can't believe I forgot that one. Ha, also forgot Fearless Vampire Killers, although it gets a bit camp.
what?! really. i love books on tape/cd. where did you find the score?

DAMN. DOLLS (1987) has anyone seen this movie? it scared the hell out of me as a kid.
my very least favorite scary movie, because it is so evil and realistic: High Tension. Yuck. I only watched the first 40 minutes and then had to take it off. I couldn't sleep for many months afterwards. I hate slasher films, unless they are campy. But this new strain of super realistic torture films just nauseates me. DId anyone see Hard Candy? Really, who the hell wants to experience a man getting his balls cut off in realtime? Not me.
I like The Shining

And The Exorsist, The Omen (original), and pretty much anything with vampires.

That would be awesome. I think that film was so ahead of its time - it's too bad Charles Laughton never made another movie.
I totally agree. The film is a total classic. It's funny, it still is totally not so well known, at least here in the US. A friend of mine from France said it's considered a classic there.

'strangeland' was actually pretty creepy, especially regarding who made the movie.
Dawn of the Dead was so good for me. Shopping mall zombies, ha.

The Shining.

Loved Mulholland Drive, though I don't know if it's horror. Spooky as hell at times.
