i have a friend in san diego who uses master tracks pro on a G3 tower running OS 7.5.x

when i left san diego i gave him my old G3 tower (the beige one that looks like a giant fax machine from the 80's) because it had OSX on it and a copy of DP installed. almost 2 years later i get a call from him and he's trying to log in to OSX but doesn't know the password... i had written the password in permanent marker on top of the computer.

so, it took him 2 years just to turn on the computer. no wonder he's still running master tracks pro. so now he has two identical huge G3 macs one with at least a foot in this decade and the other firmly planted in 1990's.

FLStudio

Live 6, Cubase something. I also use Rebirth...

i`m using:
Plogue Bidule -most of the time;
Renoise -less and less because bidule is way more fun for me;
Energy XT -just started cause i needed some ligtweight sequencer for a long audio files and automation.

yamaha rm1x
live 5
reaper

some other sequencers i've used:
asr10
music 2000 for sony playstation
mixman studio pro

im back to cubase now.
i just can't keep away from the ugly german software.

What brought you back to Cubase? (or what put you off of the others?)

Live 7 & Protools LE 6.something

i use sometimes live and sometimes logic. depends on how saucy im feeling. im new to logic though.

sometimes i get crazy with teh Max just for kicks. yes.

crazy=me just patching nonsense for midi data and seeing what comes out

im so fast with cubase's arrange window.
cubase object based system is my type of thinking
now that macs are fast (intels) i can finally run cubase on osx quickly
plus the hardware i/o plugin is AMAZING..
also also, the delay compensation is amazing!

its these things i hated about logic/live that i just couldn't be without anymore ...
now that cubase runs so sweet on intel macs

oh, and for my analogs, i've got one of them FR mobius'
its f'n great

Sounds good jdg. Thanks for the insight.

I'm using a Yamaha RS7000 and Live now. MIDI/writing with the RS, tracking and arranging with Live.

If a Yamaha n12 ever comes to live with me, I'll probably switch back to Cubase for the AI features.
