So maybe some of you know that jdg is currently undergoing chemotherapy to treat testicular cancer.
If this is news to you, it's because John is being a MANLY MAN, and you know how manly men can be, they don't like to complain. Unless its after a few beers and people start showing off scars (oh God no!)
Sadly his employer (and wife) does not offer health insurance, so they are having a fundraiser-- you can buy delicious pies from their West Seattle bakery
DONATE TO JDG'S CANCER TREATMENT FUND
and the proceeds will go toward buying the drugs jdg needs to kill this cancer.
For those of us who cannot pick up pies from West Seattle, there is an option to just donate to this good cause... and I for one think lotsa people from here SHOULD DO SO. Even if he hasn't mastered your album, fotoshopped your face or posted a link to some dubious imagery that you found funny, his liberal dispensation of information on using EQ, compression, computers and KYMA alone are worth cash money.

Seriously, though -- best wishes, get well... the CDs and calendars are fun ideas... i wonder if that'd actually appeal to many folks beyond the em411 community.
I see that a celtic band in seattle is doing a benefit show. I suspect that a live concert might draw more folks, folks who aren't just gonna plop their $$ down for John without some sort of thing to receive in return. You know, them folks. some sort of .... Laptop (cancer) battle. can someone explain how this works? i'm assuming you're not held to ransom for treatment? do they treat you and leave you with a kickass bill? or can they actually refuse treatment? - am asking cos we'll be collecting on the 15th december at our night in manchester but wondering if we should organise something sooner.
