My first live gig went incredibly well! I am so happy!! It was held in a wonderfully dark, spooky cellar and together with a friend we created dark ambient noises using only circuit bent equipment, two soundlabs, and a couple of old cassette tapes.
I've put some pictures on my website for your viewing pleasure. There's also a 30min recording; the minidisc ran out after that and I didn't have extra disks.
Live performance is such an incredible buzz! I am still over the moon, delighted that it went well It turned out to be a great idea to leave all the laptops and computer bits at home and just work with the toys. Near the end, we passed out the toys on the ends of long, curly cables so the audience could do some button mashing too
We played for more than 90mins, with just a tiny break in the middle, it was exhausting but wonderful at the same time As there were DJs playing at the same time somewhere else in the building, the audience sort of drifted between their sets and our live improv in the cellar.
A huge thanks goes out to Pehr who joined in with his soundlabs and bent toys.
I will definitely be doing this stuff again! happy! happy! happy! happy!
