--> Is it me, or does it seem like an unprecedented number of em411 members are achieving musical "success"?

*A number of people have released music videos lately.
*STFU has occured a number of times with plans for more in the future.
*We have a mastering engineer among us.
*Umami, Mormo, Liger, Ochre, Room, Autistici, Ignatius, jdg, Implex Grace, hecanjog, n9, and a whole bunch more I'm forgetting have released serious albums with varying (high) levels of success.
*We've been featured on compilations (Autistici, hecanjog, Implex Grace... and many many many I've forgotten)
*A number of us have created successful software and hardware tools.
*Some of us have started labels... (Room, hecanjog)
*...and netlabels (Hippocamp...)
*Many of our websites are hosted and/or designed by em411 members

...lots of stuff!

Despite the sentiment that em411 aint what it used to be (something I believe to a degree...) I'm thoroughly impressed, and after writing this out, honored, humbled, and proud.
And inspired.

it's totally great and challenging for everyone here to see that someone is getting some attention from the 'outside world'. Autistici on 12k was really a motivation for keeping sending demos around, following Fredo's labels businesses is a window on pop-like mechanisms and reading Audiobulb reviews on the magazines i usually read makes me really happy for Room... i think we all here can be happy of this because of the fact thar EM411 has never been a place for competition and it's one of the main things that make this place so great.

I think the way the web has started to be used in the past few years (Myspace etc) also helps.
But I'm very much inclined to agreed with what Nagrom said, we seem to have plenty of geniuses (what's the plural of genius?) here.

It's all very encouraging stuff and it's great to know that people who you know (on the internets at least) are doing good things

Yay success! I won the Dallas laptop battle last night

Yay. Good success!
Haha... "you get a gold computer!"

i would like to thank everyone at em411 too. its a really good community with alot of talent that might go unnoticed without a central hub like we have. i have been inspired by people here, both online and in the flesh.

although i think success is a really funny thing, like this year i have had a comp release, played about 25 gigs and the amazing STFUs in the uk, in Finland and Germany, strangely I have not made much music. so being busy isn't always good in a creative sense. like there is other preassures outside making music when you start to get busy.

i would argue that success is different to everyone. as long as i can keep doing this, and not hate it and people likeing it i will keep going. i am afraid of it turning into a job and becoming repetitive so i think communities like this can help and make things fresh, interesting and keep you inspired.

having just moved studios and settled in i have got back into make sounds and am hoping to get back into the swing.

so peace out ya'll roll on 2007

em411 is lovely!!!!

i'm a new member and i recently discovered the radio thingy on the site. i have to say i don't really listen to anything alse lately. thanks for all that wonderful music

I wonder how well it would go if we started a competition every months for the best release, best as in voted by each of us. The point being that this would incite some hard work and we would all have a track each month that we would be really happy with!
... succsess .. certainy, i think the most amazing thing is the community aspect and the success of the site itself, succsess in creating a comunity and creating one which builds and to a large degree molds people into musicians who act on their instincts.

ive noticed it mostly because of my freind laras recent posts and the thrill shes gotten from the responce, shes in total awe of the fact that people are intrested in her aproach to music, and coming from a very musical family and moving twords very non traditional aproch was not something that she found was easy. the encouragment prompts her to action and to move without fear of negetive reaction... .. .. which i feel verymuch reflects my own exsperience here ..

i certainly grew up on em411, my knowledge of em was extreamly limited, and yet here i am a couple of years later and im more intrenced in the work that i have ever been, i blame Em411 and its support entirly ....

so yeah succsess . its all around .. and very impressive

dood, Karma...
what limited success I had has definitely taken a nose dive over the past couple of years.
I blame em411 :P

i come to em411 for the warm fuzzies and the occasional cold prickly. everyone here is extremely supportive and that is why i love this place. even the people i "don't like" would still be considered "friends" outside of em411 simply because of the bond this place has.

any success i have is due to context.

lots of talent around these here parts. indeed.

respect.

congrats kidko! so that means you'll be in seattle next month? if so, i'll do my best to come down for it.

I'm pretty new here,.. but I was impressed with the community and joined because of it. There are alot of people on here who are constructively doing positive projects in the electronic music scene compared to other environments I'm a part of.

kidko,

protman beat me in chicago and he is the reason why i am not able to go to seattle !! beat his pants off for me.

:p

if he plays the same things he playe din chicago, it'll be really loungey electronicals
