just thought i'd post a link to a new video i've been working on.
link
not quite done with it, but i have other stuff i've got to do for the next few months, so i figured i'd put it up in it's simpler state. when i get back to it i'm gonna add some layers of simple illustrations and animation to it.
hope you enjoy it. thanks for watching/listening.

No i haven't tried it yet. I'd have to fork out for the bloody drill if i want to do that. So that's going to cost more than 14 bucks. The dude will make one for a fee though.
Edit:
I quite like the fact that in the new millenium, it's relatively easier to make quality stuff/videos/music/etc without getting hit by cost as a barrier to entry.

just dont mount your camera to a 2x4 and run around with it ala "whats his face of the dead"... it'll break the camera (trust me)

hahaha. true. the tools cost more than the project. i guess you'd have to pay for the tools by making and selling the steadicams. i guess the inventor would not be too happy about that though.

well said. it's amazing. some analog things are cool and all, but i'm one to stand up and say thank god for digital. it's really broken barriers for so many people. great time for artists. poor artists especially. i guess that means the majority of artists then.

Yeah i totally love that! Especially the fact that we don't have to rob a bank to get something out that's acceptable.
Btw i really dig your video as is, too much after effects could kill it. I especially totally like the lines at the end. The render time must have been horrendous. I've tried out the magic bullet suite, but the damn thing just takes too long.

@jogn - ya, magic bullet is slow as molasses. took several hours each time it rendered. on a G5 with a gig of ram. i'm sure on a new mac with more ram it'd be better, but still slow.
yeah, i hear you on the AE overkill. i don't like a lot of things done in AE. some music videos just look waaay over-produced. i was thinking about adding some light sort of line drawings of some leaves, birds, branches, that sort of thing. and a bit of text at the beginning, nothing that would obscure the film too much, just give it that extra something.

a steady cam jr.. those are awesome... u can even build your own.
man.. they're not that much anymore link"
oooh. thanks for the link. a buddy of mine and i talked forever about building one of those. this was a few years back when the prices on anything decent were still skyhigh. i've seen some good plans also, but i am no hardware wizard so those $300 tiffen's look good to me. hmmm."
I tried to build a steady cam in my foolish youth years. We called it the un-steadycam. It was shakier then handheld.

Love this video. I could have sworn it was super 8 until I read your comments. That 24p (and you effect applying) is pretty damn amazing.
Great work.

I like the idea of the birds drawn in. Outlining the leaves would definitely be overkill to me.
