is what I've been looking for. I was using iTunes to convert my wavs/aac to mp3, but I reckon I'll use this now so the files don't automatically get added to my library.
From the site:
"If you would like to convert your audio from one format to another, Max can read and write audio files in over 20 compressed and uncompressed formats at almost all sample rates and sample sizes. For many popular formats the artist and album metadata is transferred seamlessly between the old and new files."

Seems pretty cool so far. I used it to encode a file and it plays fine. You can also rip cds with it to any of the formats. It's drag and drop, too.
Just thought I'd share.

Haha. Sorry to disappoint you, astroid. It is a bad name for an audio app.

It's a really good app. I use it all the time.

Yeah, amazing app. I use it to bring .ogg and .flac into my closed Mac world.
