--> Why do I think this a good thing? I wonder about past excessive use of THC, a need for the Snares man when I haven't slept, and my obsession with my old toys of childhood. Do these things relate? Can I blame the internet? Please?

PS: gl0tch, I also thought this was going to say "AIDS."

I allegedly have ADD too. I was diagnosed in high school and medicated for a little while, but I really think I was just fucking bored with the world.

It's great... American culture conditions people to seriously think that if you show any sign of boredom or emotion you are abnormal. The only reason to be medicated imho is to abuse it. At least get some enjoyment out of supporting the psycho-pharmaceutical industrial complex.

btw... has anyone heard of this shit, I think I have it too. link

RLS is real and causes significant pain and discomfort to people who have it.

Coming from a family of bipolar sufferers who have attempted suicide multiple times and who have, in the absence of medication, lived with physical symptoms such as debilitating migraine and nausea, I respectfully disagree with this opinion.

I didn't mean to offend, I just think that the vast majority of cases of the disorder of the week are fiction at best, and take issue with the unscruplous marketing involved . I know that people have real problems and that medication is valuable when treated seriously, just most of the time it isn't.

Ok, I'm with you Logo. We are definitely an over-medicated society!

I have a buddy with "A.D.D." I'm skeptical about it being a problem as well.. big deal. You can still function right?
Hes a brilliant musician as well. wooot.

i think i also have....ooh, look at the birdy!

I'm not against drugs per se, but i am against this: "ooh wow, speed helps us concentrate, but unless we have a disease we shouldn't use it, so let's invent a disease so that we can use the drug"

i have no doubt that TV has bred a short attention span among youngsters. try removing the TV, see what that does.
i really like the yellow swirly spirally artwork. very cool.

I tested positive for high functioning autism on a test online. I imagine half the people on this board would.

a relative of mine was supposedly diagnosed with this. he seemed like a perfectly normal kid to me and most everyone else. but his parents thought he was too hyper. so... the usual story. they get him on meds. now at family functions he barely speaks and kind of sits in a corner and stares. seriously, one step short of a house plant. poor kid. but it's easier for his parents i guess. drugs are his babysitter.

The symptoms of ADHD fall into the following two broad categories:[4]
Inattention:
Failing to pay close attention to details or making careless mistakes when doing schoolwork or other activities
Trouble keeping attention focused during play or tasks
Appearing not to listen when spoken to
Failing to follow instructions or finish tasks
Avoiding tasks that require a high amount of mental effort and organization, such as school projects
Frequently losing items required to facilitate tasks or activities, such as school supplies
Excessive distractibility
Forgetfulness
Hyperactivity-impulsive behavior
Fidgeting with hands or feet or squirming in seat
Leaving seat often, even when inappropriate
Running or climbing at inappropriate times
Difficulty in quiet play
Frequently feeling restless
Excessive speech
Answering a question before the speaker has finished
Failing to await one's turn
Interrupting the activities of others at inappropriate times"

LOL who the hell hasn't shown most of these symptoms at some point in thier life?

The thing that I'm curious to know about is the portion of left handed and/or creative-types (basically right brainers) that have ADD as opposed to left brainers like accountants and whatnot. It's suprising to me that a corelation between smaller cerebellums (the part of your brain in charge of sensory perception and motor output) and ADD has been found since I find most of the ADD cases I know are also very talented musicians/artists/actors who have very accute motor/sensory control.

Also, I have a theory that ADD is simply divergent thought process as opposed to the "normal" convergent thought process, but that theory is complete speculation and totally unfounded in any sort of science!
