Electronic Music 411 - tards "compare" sh-101 and 201..

kaoss is more of an effect right? a mate had one. they're fun but i think that it could be a LOT better. the technology is available for something much more advanced. i dunno, maybe they want to keep it in some kind of budget.
the 201 is definitely the collective brainchild of a room full of banal marketing/sales execs. roland and korg in particular have become predictable. from my perspective, it seems that their best products came about when they didn't have a marketing plan.

exactly. getting up set because roland/yamaha etc hasn't made a good synth in forever is like getting upset that chrysler/GM/oldsmobile etc hasn't made a good car or something.

if you want something interesting buy something old or buy something from a smaller manufacturer.. DSI, elektron, jomox.. whatever.. there's lots of cool stuff out there. not to mention software.. i'd rather have absynth than any newish roland/yamaha/korg synth... the ost interesting thing korg has donen is the legacy collection and the kaoss pad things.

well maybe not because it's a synth but more that they are faking their way through a show basically. reminds me of when i used to have to do sales at circuit city, having to b.s. my way through a sale by just rephrasing what's on the box ... or watching the more successful salespeople lie way better than me.

so faking tech knowledge is the peeve i guess, and maybe a little jealously that they can afford synths they don't anything about.

i definitely feel you on that.. I guess I just learned to laugh at that kind of stuff as a coping mechanism..

that's always how I deal with all the tragediees in life (big and small). been doing it for a long time.
