--> I found a vst plugin for the PC called glith by dblue a while ago and really enjoyed it. However, I recently bought a mac book pro and can't find the same plug in for mac. Is there something similar that someone could direct me to?

this seems to come up a few times a month. i'd say just be patient. UB versions of all kinds of things are in the works.

there are alternatives but nothing exactly like it. audiodamage has a beat slicer type thing coming out that is pretty cool and i'm sure there are a dozen things in reaktor that do something similar.

if you use live 6 you can cook up very interesting things using whatever effects (redux, buffer override, granulator, comb filters) you want inside of racks.

you can load them up, ctrl-click and hit distribute evenly then assign the chain selector to one of the macro knobs.

you can then use clip envelopes, or even multiple dummy clips to automate or real time change which of your effects in the rack your sound is hitting at any given step, or via midi.

i am working on such a rack where through dummy clips i will have up to 16 different parts of chains of effects (some with overlap) that using the pads on my trigger finger, i can play beats on the pads to switch what effects are being applied.

very fun stuff.

livecut, fire, the free stuff over at tritone digital, hunt down pluggos, you'll find lots of stuff that work well when used together for glitchiness. granular processors like amber-x, soundhack and fscape.

mac only badass looking soft for the gleetchy

is it easier to port XP apps to UB than Power PC? or does it not even matter cause the OS is still totally different.

i cant take credit. i break you guys off the best 3 (only?) useful threads to come out of the ableton forums in a few years in a minute after i check my bookmarks.

when i am mentally up to it, i still try to hit that place up from time to time and wade through the mindnumbingness.
