--> **EDIT jan 5, 2007 - wow. thanks for the responses people. i'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment. gotten quite a few emails and emmails to sort through. wasn't expecting this kind of response. i don't want to come across as ungrateful in any way shape or form, but i'm afraid i'm going to have to put a hold on any new work for a while.

my intentions were to only do a couple of free covers to round out some areas in my portfolio and then move on to other projects. i can't afford to do any more free ones i'm afraid. and i've already got a backlog of projects after that (videos, music, etc.). i hate to turn people away but i only have a limited amount of time, and i gotta pay bills. thanks sincerely for the interest. very awesome!

so, until further notice i will be working on cclub and astroid/ariel cover art round the clock.

----

anybody have a cd or at least a group of songs that needs some artwork? it can even be a netlabel release, not neccessarily a physical cd.

here's the deal: i need some practice and portfolio material. so in other words, you get some free artwork that you may or may not like and therefore you may or may not use. simple as that. no contracts, no money, no biggie.

obviously i'll have to hear the songs and see if i can get excited and get ideas, and you will have to see some examples of my artwork and see if you think i can do your music justice also.

feel free to emmail me if you don't feel like posting things up in this blog.

thanks!

edit - warning: some more details, just so things are clear. what this type of arrangement can mean for you.

1. you like the art and everything works fine. awesome. i've got artwork credit and something new in my portfolio.

1.5889 section a: you go on to sell a bazillion records. the least you could do is give me an itunes gift certificate or something, you cheap bastard.

2. you aren't satisfied with the art and would like decline the use of it. i will try to work with you as much as i can (remembering it's for free). but sometimes expectations and tastes are just different or the art simply doesn't end up fitting. you move on to get another artist. no hurt feelings, but i will still use it in my portfolio. can't waste that hard work, especially if the name of the artist is ingrained in the design, you know? but, i'll label the work as "album art proposal for" - insert artist name here. i've got something new in my portfolio.

edit - dur, here is a link to some stuff i've made.

jrom, sepia - thanks! i'm booked on the freebies. i will not charge a million dollars a cover when i start charging though, i know what it's like to be broke,. so keep me in mind if you are still interested by then.

fredo - thanks! much appreciated!

Now why didn't I think of making a post like this. Great idea!

yeah legato, there are tons of musicians out there who need artwork apparently. go for it, make a post. it's a good way to motivate yourself to get more artwork done when you know you're going to be giving it to someone to use on their cd, paid or not. i've been doing the create-my-own-projects thing for a while but need some things in my portfolio that i've done for others.

Yea the making stuff up yourself gets old fast, perhaps I will make one, I should get motivated and set up a page on my site with examples first.

woah. i got blown away.

i dig the naked chick on the horse.

that video is cool too. you could do videos for BoC, and you could do it better than they could.

your video seems like it would go well with reehc's (cheer's) music too.

iTunes gift certificate? Snap, bazillion-sellers could do a hell of a lot more than that, I'd be giving royalties something insane. Hm, but now that I think of it, some simple art/logos would be nifty...
