Recently ive been tyring to find some new music to listen to. There is so much of it (especially in the electronic area) that I have never heard.
One of the problems im having is trying to find music that fits into what im already liking, without either knowing the genre name or knowing where some artists fit. I dont really like genre names, IDM, glitch, shoegazer, and so on. I know that some artists had the term IDM, and dont classify themselves there.
So if im trying to find music similar to Isolee, Lali Puna, Loscil, ISan and many other mellow, nostalgic sounding electronic acts, what do I look for? Glitch hop, glitch bliss, Nu Gaze, or any of the other ridiculous names Wikipedia has? Each service such as Emusic seems to have theyr own names, and theyr own idea of who fits where.
Its quite confusing.

hey thanks sprouts, that site looks great. Ive also been using LastFm.com, but the recommendations are sometimes way off.
Shoutcast stations also help, I can listen and write down what artists I like, but I know there is always more, even what the stations dont play.

Cool thanks everyone. Hype machine is ok, but it doesnt really recommend anything (as far as I can see).
GNoosic isnt bad, I can see how this would expose some new bands.
I do frequent bleep alot, and many of the netlabels and so on. I just know that there is so much good music out there, and finding it can be quite a chore.
That Pandora site that sprouts recommended is quite good, ive heard some new stuff on there, and it seems to be choosing the right stuff for me to listen too. Lastfm plays stuff that I have said before I dont like, but the "yes" or "no" functions of Pandora seem to be smarter.
