ok i think i am actually hours away from finishing the last track on my ep that i've been working on for 1.5 years..... i will post it here for final advice when it's readyish.
in the meantime, i need to come up with a good name. i had a net ep before this that i called "chirping data" which i thought was a rad name, but it was easy to pick because that was written on my screen as i ran SETI@home. ;)
how do you figure out names for a release? i need tips on brainstorming techniques.
also, the biggest landmark in our city (and the biggest air-supported structure in the world) collapsed today. I live 2 blocks away so i took pics link and here are some vids link neato.

something that describes the feel/flavor of the work and the artist,
or maybe your sense of humor
or something that inspires you

Sweet, can't wait!
I get funny phrases stuck in my head for titles. One of them was "Everywhere is nowhere special".
Make a list of the moods the music evokes. Think about when you felt that way. Think about colors (sorry - colours), tastes, smells, any kind of associations you have with the music. Something will eventually stick out at you - but I think it just helps to start free associating on paper to get ideas flowing.
Sometimes you just gotta do a bunch of titles before one sticks.
When you know, you just know.

great. ep almost finished. hoorrraaay!
you could go the clincal route, like classical composers, and call it a suite or etudes or something.
or you could go down the oooh i am so intersting route with creating fake words that looks interesting with lots of x´s and numbers in it.
or you could go to a virus page, like maybe symantec, and go through the list over viruses. (viri) (virii)?? lots of great names.
or an encyclopedia. look for latin names of animals.
or, ha ha, call it "ambient music for air-supported structures"

rad.
i have always a hard time myself naming tracks and records. i fly over some phrases in books i read over the period, maybe finding two or three words that might fit as a title. sometimes i just hit some keys and repeat it, until the output looks nice.
i'd second prugs suggestion

names: i like ones that aren't descriptive of the music (seems like a waste of letters) but approach from a different angle.. used as if it was the final element in the composition. congrats and POWERRRRR!
that thing was supported by air? no wonder it collapsed. (just read up about it, haha thats a weird idea!)
