I highly suggest that everybody see Children of Men.
It's one of the most emotionally potent movies I've ever seen and certainly the best depiction of guerrilla violence I've ever seen dramatized.
Absolutely brilliant.
A shameful spoiler of a preview:

Apparently, the combat scene near the end was all one shot [the first clip you posted]. You might notice that theres some blood on the camera lens but they digitized it out on the latter part of the shot.

it was pretty good. i especially enjoyed michael cain's character. i'll probably grow up to be that guy - minus the vegetative wife.
my brother suggested we should go se this, before i hadn't even heard of it. needless to say i was pleasantly surprised. especially since it eschewed the commonplace and overt cheesiness of most end-times scenario movies.

the thing is, if i can't have kids, which as a mammilian animal is what i am all about. then i am effectively pointless. the world around me at the moment does not particularly lend itself to breeding so what am i to do? keep having sex without procreation? or try and raise kids that know the score and will help change the world for the better? discuss.

I want to see this. You would probably also like "Time of the Wolf" - it's a film by Michael Haeneke. Another post apocalyptic scenario, but it resembles modern refugee camps more than anything.

edu degree here too . . . teachers are the ones who sow the seeds to beauty and change in this world. As for the benefits of procreation in our war torn world...well, I've asked myself this question many times. It's really all about how you shape your child's perception of the world and their role in it.
A bit of unconditional love and honesty can go a long way...
