Electronic Music other: Composing music with Flash for kicks
Store
Written January 17 2007 , Tags: flash
I've been thinking about trying to compose some weird music compositions with flash, just cause it'd be a fun angle to push some creatives. Then I thought, I suppose some other people have done this.
Anybody ever tried making some music with Flash?
I am sure it will have visual elements as well, but i want to focus on weird sequences with the timeline. Maybe get interesting effects when video gets bogged down and stuff.
If I come up with something substantial, I'll release it here as well methinks

I should mention that I'm a web developer, so technically using Flash won't be a problem. That is an awsome link corpi

great links!
lexaunculpt's old website use to have this thing.. it was sort of like a puzzle (but not really) but when you moved stuff around it made crazy glitching noises and when you "solved" something it made a glitchy completion sound..
it was nuts.. there was like 20 different things you could do and they were all different and involved touching, clicking and moving stuff that made sound happen

yeah, top links. i had seen the whitney music box before, but good to see it again!
i made a flash remixer for shyFX&Tpower once. lol! too many of those around but ours rocked, cos it was based on proper mixer functionality......ahem, anyway, yes, this is something i have done before, but never quite to the level of those 2 links.
i made a space you could throw objects around and they would bounce about...as they came towards the top they got louder and they panned from left to right. could make some quite subtle tuff - or total mashup. the basic stuff for panning and volume and so on are well documented in flash, as is nice movement stuff and position capture...
i'd like to think of a more killer concept than this though
i was only thinking today that i might record the results of lots of online music toys playing together, i have two playing at the moment and it's making me laff!!!
