Have been running across some great trix n' templates n' such for using the padKontrol with Live in different ways and thought they might be interesting to other PK users around these parts...
First off, and most mindblowing to me, are TrackTeam audio's templates that combine Live 6 automapping with Mackie control. So you can use the PK to navigate around a scene set and control different devices with the x-y and the knobs.

These are also included in their beatbox which costs $$ but has a lot of other interesting things, including a rack that attempts to emulate an MPC. Not sure whether it works or not, but I may get it soon and try 'er out.
There's also a thread on the ableton forums with some other possible control schemes using mackie emulation:

And here are some youtube vids with some interesting techniques, some cool shit with swapping out hits in battery without looking at the screen

and some interesting use of the roll function for hihats.

I haven't tried any of these yet BTW but I hope to soon. I have experimented with a scene file that is a combination impulse kit and clip launcher, the idea being I can basically perform a track live, acting as arranger / drummer at the same time. However, the number of clips is limited to eight, so I need to start using more than one scene and flipping between them - or something like that. Anyways. I'm going to try out some of the above and see what might work...
