Just in case you didn't already know FL Studio 7 is out now on tucows. Plenty of enhancements and bug fixes (even over RC5). So, have at it.

Sucks that I have to work today, otherwise I would be spending all day with it. Enjoy everyone!

If you've purchased it, you can log in to FL's site and they send you the regcode to turn the demo version into the full enchilada.

ugh.
actually, I'm kind of PO'd about this. Why don't they re-code the thing, from the ground up? It's so BLOATED now. It needs slimmer code. Don't get me wrong. I LURV the interface... but every release just gets to be more and more of a processor hog. It's completely inefficient. Why, with my 64bit athlon with a gig of ram laptop, does the demo song stutter like I was on a 486? It happens on each release. It could be so much better.

it's like they just keep slapping on features onto the outside, rather than coding it correctly.

I can only speculate as to why they don't rewrite it, but it may have to do with the fact some of the code was from "3rd parties" that don't exist anymore and the core team doesn't fully understand how to re-implement them.
Not saying gol and reflex aren't damn fine programmers, but we all have our limits.
I agree that a lot of the recent additions are nothing but bloat, but you take the good with the bad I guess...

papergoose -- are you using ASIO4ALL as your sound driver? Set up FL to use that instead, and you'll probably see a performance increase.

yeah, plus I have a real ASIO card or 2 as well. With that it works ok. . . but... seriously.
It's my biggest gripe. No other software I run is even CLOSE to the processor hog that FL is.
I still love it and use it everyday though.

i dunno. FL seems pretty cpu efficient to me.. they just always put a ton of crap on the demo songs i think.
