I know a guy that used to send his music to Transmat, 'cause Transmat was THE techno label, and anything other than theirs was rubbish. I used to think that was both noble and quite cool. (he used to get rejected with lovely letters)!! However, now I'm older, I know that to be quite the wrong way to look at music. Music is music, you can't pinpoint any part of music as point of fact to why you listen to it!!! When I got married I had "Kaotic Harmonies - Drrick May" ,"Air- All I need" and "Bill is dead - The Fall"!! All very differnt records, but each one make me either cry or my hair on the back of my neck to stand up so far thet it smashes windows! Oh, i think anyone who contemplates why theey listen to music should listen to "music take me up - Larry heard/Mr Fingers" it kinda sums it up for me regardless of what music your into.
i like salty music.
I always heard the vocals and guitar first. It wasn't until my best bud and I would analyze music more and started playing music together that I really started listening to the drums and the bass (that was the hardest for me), etc.

I don't know what I love about listening to music except that I would feel dead without it. I absolutely love creating it, it feels great. It's many things for me. It allows me to vent, to express myself without typical conversation/words, all that junk. But just listening to music...it puts me into another place.
music is the last refuge for a feckless oaf.

it allows me to be intelligent without really understanding anything, graceful with the poise of a wildebeest, powerful with the spine of a banana slug.
i really get into detailed complexity - the little sounds behind the main lines that give something a feel of quality and care

i'm also totally into the mix and mastering and get very impressed when music has a lovely overall quality in terms of bass, middle and high end - with lots of seperation between elements and good stereo placement - when this is done well i feel as though the sounds are raining on and around me and get lost in it
well at the moment it's all about the head nodability. I go for nice beats and basslines that can take me away. i think i've always mainly gone for the groove in music.

But there's no rules, I love it when stuff suprises me and makes me love it when I didn't expect to.
im so late to this blog. Saw the picture and had to click.

I like music that is damp and has been rained on but was neglected to be dried off before another shower came along and got it SOAKED again.

Now mold is building up and the smell of staleness is filling the air.. my Allergies are also going a little wacky. AAh shit I need Benadryl.. shit im sleepy..
