He's so fortunate to be popular at such a shitty time in music/culture.
MTV is the fucking devil.

MTV is the devil. I think MTV started to blow it in 92 when the "Alternative Nation" era came. It stopped being about music. It was Animation, Singled Out and of course The Real World.
Which all lead to the Spring Break specials.. and it feels like it's been like that ever since. Everybody screamm!!!!!! yeahhh!!! wooo whoooo! I think "alternative" music was more complex than they had thought ... hence the failure to cover electronic music correctly. I think they got scared and decided to go with this whole "let's laugh at the dumb rich pretty people" show.
