--> Coco and I are starting up a monthly electronic music show at Apotheke called "Aleatoric" here in Portland, and I'm looking for artist interested in playing. It'll be the 3rd Friday of every month, starting March 16th (which we're presently booked). The shows will be streamed live thanks to Portland Radio Authority, and probably podcasted as well.

We're looking for electronic musicians that aren't in the standard house, techno, Drum N Bass genres ... more IDM, ambient, experimental, and downtempo (Kruder & Dorfmeister kind, not mushroom jazz downtempo).

Although we're hoping for more live PA artists, one DJ a night wouldn't hurt. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

*edit* email me at mikejedlicka AT NOSPAM gmail.com if you're interested. I check that address much more than the em411 account ...

Oh and for any of the visual artists out there! Please get in contact with us! We would love to have you too

well would my music file under experimental?

hey, thx.. i couldn't speak for suppoz, he's a busy lad, but i'd be willing to come down and spin.

do you guys have any money? =D 'cuz i've been wanting to bring some great out-of-town artists to apotheke (12k, raster, touch type folks), but haven't had anything to draw from financially. perhaps if we all teamed up.

cheers.

Speaking for myself, the funds aren't there. We're really planning on promoting local artists at first. If we start to get a following that may be an option in the future. We really don't want the cover to be over $3 to facilitate folks to continue to attend. I personally despise paying over $5 unless an uber-legend is playing. I'm sure others agree ...

I would have to agree with Mike! Everything PRA does is funded by the people that do the events (myself, mike and a few other people). There is no way at this point for us to bring in big names. As Mike said if there is a true following then we will consider expanding to out of town artists. But for now I would like to focus on our local talent as we have plenty to draw from; for instance, Strategy like I mentioned before.

I do work on the Ghostly Street team and there has been talk of possibly bring someone from that label like Deru but nothing has been gone past a few emails and phone conversations.

Too early to tell but we are open to possiblities if they present themselves

haha, I am from Hanoi vietnam, I can come and play. haha

Apotheke is the best thing to happen to the electronic music scene in Portland since the Third Pyramid days. DJing there was a dream come true. So much better than some bar with Budweiser neon signs everywhere and wagon wheel tables. Wait, I kind of like wagon wheel tables.

"KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE!"
We're set on the artists for March 16th, in no particular order ...

map~map/gasp- improv live PA duo
masmod- live PA
whitecar-live PA
mike jedlicka- DJing between sets

jef were you singing just then?

of course! i'm always singing!

very, very cool. i can't make the first two, though. at least i can get the podcasts, though, right? what exactly is a podcast?

this should be a good summer. laptop lounge has a monthly in the works, as well. 2007 is the new 2004.

Podcasts would be through PRA, and they give the ability to d/l the shows in MP3 format from the website. We're still working that option out with the live streaming/podcasting guy for PRA, so it's not definate as of now. But I'm really pushing it!

Nice line-up for March 16th!

i think we're gonna have to work something out on the 16th, cuz that's hott pink's final show of all time and i wanna come to this too. hmmmmmm.
