--> I'm currently musical director for a cabaret show called 'Mistress Mandarella's New Boots'.

For the theme tune, I combined electronic drum machine samples and classical instrument samples. You can have a listen to the result at my blog here: link

I don't haer all that much cabaret/electronica fusion, apart from Gotan Project. How many people here try to fuse classical and electronic samples and how successful is it? I struggled with it at first, and found it better to cut up the instrumental phrases and rreconstruct them within the drum machine.

sweet, its very dramatic....
i really love the section from 1:15-1:40...beautiful

the percussion is very good all the way through, as is most of the music..i dont really like the rhytmic strings..theyre a little over the top for me. but i imagine perfect for a stage show of some sort.

My ears are used to contemporary classical music, but I do find a lot of people find use of so many classical instruments too much. But this music is classical/electronic fusion rather than just electonica I guess, and as you say good for the context. Did the organ solo at the end work for you?

definitely dont mind the acoutic instruments, in fact i welcome them...its just the sequence and feel of that violin/string stuff that doesnt quite grab me..but yeah organ is good and all the music is damn fine!
