--> I have wanted a Nord Modular G2 ever since I first saw them. I only had a micromodular at the time, and to be honest, I didn't use it, because it felt too much like editing stuff on the computer, and not particularly inspiring. I upgraded to a Nord Modular Rack a year or so go, which is more inspiring, thanks to all the tweakable knobs, and really liked that, but still, my heart, I wanted the G2. Not only did the screens and endless rotation knobs make me feel funny inside, but the extra stuff that the G2 could do, made me want that, and not just be happy with the G1 (which, in itself, is fucking amazing).

But, thanks to selling a kidney, I've just bought a G2, second hand, but in perfect condition. And it's lovely. Messing around with the logic stuff is great, it is everything I've ever wanted and more. Hooray for finally having a decent delay module! Hooray for reverb! Hooray for the string oscillator! Hooray for logic gates and flip-flops!

I'm in geek heaven.

If this is what I can make in my first evening of properly playing with it, hopefully there should be nothing I couldn't do:

This is just a 4 bar loop, with automation and randomisation introduced. Lovely. link

those logic gates and flipflops pwn me. and the mux and bin counters. love that stuff

actually, astroid, you might know the answer to this

how do I sync a random lfo to the master tempo?

couple ways to do it dpending on what you want

there's the "random clock module" if you just want to feed it a clock, and have it spit out random values.

some of the lfos have restart functions that you can sync to the clock

mostly though, you gotta have one of those clock units (in the "lfo category") and flip the switch from internal to master

another approach would be to use that random clock module, and put a glide on the output-that way it won't "step" values, rather glide between them

as with anything on a modular system, there's a ton of ways to do it.

another idea is having white noise through a sample and hold, clocked by the master clock (or anything, an oscillator if you like) and putting glide on that output.

I just picked up a G2 this week as well so I know how happy you are! Such a beautiful interface....holy fook.

did you really sell a kidney?

@astroid - thanks, I'll check that out later

Still not sure if it was a good idea to sell mine.
