did i say this yet?
second life is dumb.

I find the idea rather intriguing, having read "Snow Crash".
I like the idea of walking around a landscape and meeting people, or just exploring.
Its being open-source is a good move.

Though, I haven't found the time to actually use it.

maybe you are too busy walking around a landscape and meeting ppl, or just exploring?
stop going outside.... so you can spend more time walking around a landscape and meeting ppl, or just exploring?

fucking shit, why won't armageddon just kill us all already . . ."

shut. the fuck. up GAWD don't like it don't play it, meanwhile i fly around like the hott studd i know i am and meet girls from turkey. u know where that is? WELL i didn't until i met this chick. it's the fucking internet d00ds,... ppl used to make fun of aim too, but meanwhile we're having deep personal conversations in real-time with people half-way across the world

D - U - H

ehehhehhee

no one is having deep conversations with you everamzah.
and you computer isn't even turned on.

jdg, i think your point is a bit silly. i agree that spending LOTS of time on SL is potentially damaging/wasteful, but how is that particular game any different then reading, forum(ing), or playing video games?
It's an educational activity with different returns than walking around real life, just as reading is more conceptual / educational, gaming is more hedonistic (my new favorite word), and forum(ing) is arguably more intellectual/informative.

ok but they COULD that's my point HAR HAR
human interaction and exchages of ideas... new way to do it? KEWL

and did i say this yet?
if your so worried about wasting time stop doing it NANA

edit: ok ok ill stop being such a troll. and i know, i know... "well, i'm not wasting my time, see, cause i don't play it..."

i just wanna point out, is all, that because one person doesnt waste their time with it, or feels their time wasted if they invest their time INTO IT... DOESNT MEAN it's a wasted amount of time for ANYONE ELSE

that is all thank you bye bye ^_^

I know, technically there's no such thing as wasted time, but doing lower priority activities first is usually called procrastination in my world. I'm sure Second Life is (potentially) a more edifying time"waster" than many other activities, especially on the internet. I'm going to reserve judgement until I know what jdg thinks of it, though.

jdg?

I've never played it but you can't escape it here. The Sydney Morning Herald news is OBSESSED (edit: possibly becuase it appears to be an Australian invention or something) with it and several corporations including one I work for are moving in so they can get a slice of pie. I wouldn't play it, the fucking SIMS are bad enough for wasting time in a pretty pointless way. I don't get enough done as it is.

im not sure...
but i think its dumb.

let me ask my wife.

lol dumb.
if i met a em producer there, well. i won't cuz i won't play.
an;yways. i would have to wonder why they were in a virtual boo hiss instead of working on x artists' album.... haha weird shit.

sounds stupid to me. but, hey, that's just me chiming in. anybody who's having fun with this game, that's cool. it's really easy to get laid these days, i don't know why one would play a game just for that. but i guess there's other things. still, i think if you have any ambition, any at all, why not just use it in real life? look for the angles in real life? but, hey, if you're having fun in a way that's just not possible in your real life, then i guess second life could be worth it. could be worth trying to get the edge on the real life greedy bastards, too.
