--> So I was 'listening' to merzbow the other afternoon and wondering how you might use such noisy racket to actually hurt someone. This first link is a really interesting article on 'Sonic Warfare' link This second article talks about a weapon used in Iraq for a couple of years link This whole area is quite interesting to me. To be fair though, one wonders why you need to spend so much money on hi-techery when a decent sound-system and some chart music might suffice. I guess that's what they did in Vietnam...

Either way, found this interesting...

someone posted a link not too long ago to some hi frequency thing (i think it was sound but could have been light/radiation) that made your face feel like it was melting off when the pigs point it at you.

I don't know if loud music really counts as a sonic weapon. Man ... the source of all my trollish complaining is because I feel that 90's techno systems were a sign of the times ... and I just can't accept that(denial I know). I wanna be moved, shaked and reduced to vomitting all over myself from humming and pounding bass.

but .. melting your face and bringing people powerless to their knee's(like aliens in an old sci-fi movie)... not the same as merzbow.
