I get 4TB/month on Dreamhost, and 400G of storage, for $15/month.

I think getting rid of avatars and images is a mistake. I say bring 'em all back, and add the ability to attach files up to 8MB to posts, to anyone who's willing to give you $20/year for a membership to "em411 pro".
