i wouldn't sell the domain, i'd open it up and let people work on it as a community project. it is a community, the community should be able to reconstruct its own framework..

but that's just me. i suppose myspace wouldn't let their users work on it HAHHA, but that's not my point... this isn't myspace. it's a small(ish) em community... this site would make a GREAT open source project... revision control, project leader, developers, bug testers, documentation ppl... and every1 enjoying the fruits of that labor in a fulfilling way. this site is clean, simple, ... and what is it? php? shiiiiiiit

I guess I kind of miss them in the slightest bit (I turned them off when the "clean" mode was given)...

I think an awesome compromise would be to have emID images (setup the same way blog images are). That way it keeps the chit chat clean, but lets everyone have 4 pieces of flare to do what they please with. It would make the emIDs more profile-ish in a non suck myspace way.

regarding clicking ads. googleads work on the payment by "impression". I believe the site gets paid based on page views and not any clicking at all.
maybe i'm wrong, but i used to read every single posted forum and other page. now i'm ranking at two page views TOTAL per day.
that's got to be (just one user change) a loss of about 500 google ad impressions a day. i would go back heed first to forums if i could see quicks and bleen's icons again....lol 0- its the little things in life that make it worth it no?
