OH! that car scene take, there was a quote from Wahlberg where he says something like, "After this movie I'm going to do a nice, easy action film." Hilarious. The director creates tension on the set on purpose, but yeah lily tomlin's definitely not a saint!

Yeah, I heard that director is pretty intense. I think I read a new york times article on his intense nature when it comes to directing.

HAHA man. That guy is infamous for being a royal jackass. He and Clooney were all over the hollywood rags for their very loud, public falling out after Three Kings. I like his films a lot, though.

Lily should have stomped his face. Calling her all that, anger or not, he's telling her to act like a grownup and he's twice the moron in one package. Good thing he never touched her, I'm sure she would've sued him into oblivion. Any man that can talk to a woman the way he did does so because he's used to getting away with it. It could be because he talks to everybody like that who he disagrees with, but he is the definition of someone who is psychologically impaired to conflict resolution. Good thing he doesn't carry a firearm. It's good that she laughed him off and attacked his movie, though. Can't do a worse thing to a director.

if i worked on writing and producing a film for 3 years and then an actor started to be "difficult" on set like that i'd be a little pissed too. i think sometimes actors think they can do whatever they want because once they are in a certain amount of scenes and footage it is difficult to replace them.

who knows what all led up to that blowup though. btw, both lt and russell say they are fine now and totally over it. russell is intense but well respected. wahlberg has worked with him twice, lt has worked with him twice. they knew what they were getting into and still signed up.

Well, they're trying to resolve differences, and the thing that happens is what we are all familiar with. Usually, instead of two people thinking things through toward resolution they have to get through the "C'mon make things easy for me" stage. That is the stage where battles are fought with the intention of humiliating the adversary––it's about power. Since they are both adults it's possible that they both know this and so it's actually to the benefit of all that they do let it all out. My own personal opinion is that it's not okay to treat women the way that Russell did––no matter what. But it could be true that they knew what they were doing and that it only seems like fiasco and offensive to us because we were not the ones involved. Anyway, that's one of the reasons they get paid the big bucks. Making movies is hard.

It has to be said, though, that what happened on that set is really none of my business.
