hola amigos...
i recently upgraded live and have so far enjoyed it but i've had some consistent crashes when moving small clips in arrange view. also, werid stuttered playback that actually sometimes sounds really cool but is mostly annoying.
i've been frustrated w/the last two versions of live. 5 was always buggy for me.. i'm hoping 6 will be better or at least good enough to use w/o smashing things...
i've cruised the live forum and found other peeps w/same problem. i guess there are issues w/some plugins.. waves mostly because waves conspires to drain your wallet w/every x.x update from every software developer on the planet..
anyway- just wondering how live 6 is working for you peeps and if you've discovered/solved any probs you've had.. if any...
i haven't tried live6 on the PC lappy yet.. only the G5 desktop so maybe its fine on PC.. i don't know.. | |

it's been überstable here on both my g5 and macboolpro. i have the waves gold bundle but i almost never use the plug when i'm working in live - mostly other third-party stuff.

btw. not to adjust your thread or anythings, but just so I can express this: I catergorically refused to use a computer or softs for music making for so long and Live + emfolk made me see the oppurtunites therein and I lurve it. Yay. :D

I'm having the exact same issues with my version of live, ignatius. I use a lot of free plug-ins, and it seems like the kjaerhus ones I use are problematic.

i had a problem with live 6 on windows xp, i installed midi yoke, uninstalled it, and that turned live into a DEATH TRAP. back and forth with the very nice tech fellas at ableton for two weeks until i just reinstalled windows.

i too had random, quirky issues after upgrading from 5 to 6. reinstalling the library (since it's organised differently that 5) was the fix.

very solid here too (imac G5), including waves renaissance bundle
had two plug-ins that didn't work, and made it go pooof:
gutar rig 1 and SFX machine Pro (only the VST versions, the AU's were fine)
don't upgrade to 10.4.9 though, but you probably knew that (waves no likey)

it's been really stable and my g5 and my mbp. the only problems i encountered so far were crashes when using pluggos. or with the first version of the new native instruments plugin. but the ni-updates solved this.
the other problem is, that doesn't like it, when you change buffer sizes. i always have to restart live after altering the buffer size. but that's workable.
beside that, it restore the faith into ableton back again. i was really disappointed by version 5
