i want to get a recording of this guy link

Love it!!! thanks for the link

yeah roshi...i've been looking too..i love the stuff on his site

great link, i've got my eye on a victorian reed organ that's in a local antiques shop for 100 quid. played it in the store and it sounded fucking incredible! it's big though, and i have no room.

oooh i found a pierre bastien cd: link

you better make room tmns!!!
thanks eg, looks great.

Two related comments:

1- I recently got a cheap acordian and I'm f'n loving it. Never before have a played an instrument which you control the volume with your movements (i.e. not loud/soft with the force of your hits), besides blowing instruments that is.

2- that photo of the needles in the block of wood... are those piezo contact mics? Does anyone have any good hints on how to attach contact mics to instruments? Right now I'm using masking tape... but would like a better method.

1. yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

2. they are, those i bought from musiciansfriend.com.....search for 'tuner pickups'. i use double sided tape for the regular piezo discs. it mutes the highs a little bit but not as much as you might think. i dont know of a better way, maybe some kind of putty? i'd say just use whatever tape leaves the least amount of sticky residue

Sweet. Thanks for sharing.

And, your kitty is very cute.

yeah, I hate the sticky residue. I'm putting large strips of tape right across the top... meaning direct contact, and no muting.

maybe this stuff? but i dont know how adhesive it is: link

yes, tis an idea for sure.

thanks nick...she doesnt think youre so bad either ;)
