i've built a drum machine:
it's the first prototype, i am now working on a more reliable one. the one in the video has problems with the precision of positioning.

@pierlu001: didn't know bastien but while browsing through his webpage i found out that i know one of his collaborators. thanks for the hint. looks very nice
@sAMsKi: looks like a great project, my initial idea, was to do something like this. actually i will also build a couple of non-rotating drummers, because the most complicated part (mechanically & also in electronics) is the rotation.
a non-rotating drummer is quite simple actually. just a solenoid and a small driver circuit connected to the arduino.
i didn't expect such am mass of overwhelming comments, thank you all

yeah JP. i can see that the rotation is the hardest aspect of it. fair play for going for it and adding the rotation...makes it a much more interesting contraption
