Whoa. I haven't been here in a while, guys. As a peace offering, I thought I'd give you access to some recordings I've done in the band room at school. Lately we've been working on songs to go to the state level competition, but since I'm only a part time student I can't compete. So what better way to involve me in class than to sit me in the room with mics and my computer to hit a few buttons and be bored all class?
Anyway, I thought some of you might be interested in the recordings. Some of them have some good spots where the director singled out instruments for certain parts, so those could always be cool to sample. The best part, though, is the director's comments throughout the rehearsals.
Anyway, the songs are Arsenal, written by someone I can't remember, and a so-so arrangement of the Lord Of The Rings.
Remember, this is a high school band, so it's not the best. And also remember that I'm not playing. ;)
Obviously there'd be some copyright issues and stuff for large chunks of these songs, but who's going to know?
This is a link to the directory with the mixed mp3s that I gave to my band director. The rehearsal recordings are dated, and the final performance at state festival is named DHS.mp3.
I had to sit in the very back of a large auditorium right in front of a brick wall, so it's not the best quality.
If anyone wants the unmixed tracks as 24bit wavs, message me and I'll upload them.
-- I'll recommend listening to the one just labeled arsenal.mp3. That's a day we did more than just run through it.
So here you are:
