actually, the odd thing is that MS didn't develop the first mouse driven os for PCs. There were a lot of them out first: geos (which was a port of the Atari ST UI) and at least one other one were out and usable before Windows 1.0.
The computer in the picture is an Apple IIGS. It was the Apple II that wanted to be a mac... I had one of those and it was pretty cool. But, just for the sake of saying it The Mac, the Atari ST and the Amiga all had windowing OSes with mice before the PC had these things. Not that there is a huge amount wrong with that. I still feel like the older GUI oses were clunky and got in the way as much as they helped. Also, I don't think that a.) "Mac Fanboys" forget that Xerox had a smalltalk based networked GUI based OS scheme in the late 70s that used mice or b.) Anyone would want to even use a 5 year old computer to do anything, so why to 30 year old computers matter at all. It is funny that people think that Apple enthusiasts are brainwashed.
