the url syntax here is a little different, its brackets, [] around url=http://web.site.com and then a bracketed backslash url to close the link name.

should a remix really be THAT DIFFERENT from the original to be successful?

i apologise everyone! i think that if a remix is to be done then it should be different from the original. surely isnt that the idea of a remix?

no, not neccessesarily.
take, for example eric prydz remix of brick in the wall by pink floyd he turned it into a (more or less) successful "dance" remix. and it is fully recognizable what parts of the song he used. just an example

thats very true but i dont really rate that as a song. this idea of re-workin old songs has got pretty tiring and it seemed ministry of sound put that out to test the water and see if people ar still receptive to the idea.thats my opinion anyway!!

it was meant to be "rate that song". many apologies! i just feel this business is hard enough as it is without lazy producers makin quick money of a relativly easy job

and that is even not that differnet what you did to the song. you took that sk/punk/emo rock whatever it is, sampled the vocals and built an electronic beat beneath it. the hooks from the original are totally recognisable. not that you made some glichy autechre rmx whrere everiting is twisted beyond reconition.
all in all, g a a good work, i like it even better than the source track!

thanks tylth, im really glad you like it! sits the first bit of purely public response so its encouraging to know at least one other person likes it! :D seein as its my first attempt at craftin a remix i thought i would keep it quite grounded but give it a bit of an indie-disco feel. shame that myspace only allows 6mb, had to make a different version with the last 3 minutes cut out for it!
