So a few of us freelancers have been talking about getting an office one day together. We work on projects together a lot and usually work from cafes or at home. Well, it finally happened and it couldn't be cooler.
#1 - We are subletting for 3 months. So it's a great trial run to see if we like it. Most likely in 3 months the old tenants will have grown too big for the space so we'll be able to decide whether we want to stay (most likely) or work from home and cafes again.
#2 - It's in Pioneer Square here in Seattle. It's close to my gym, close to a shit load of bars, cafe's, music shops (guitar shop literally around the corner), diners, restaurants, crazy people, sexy people, art, art, art! We are a part of Art Walk which is every first thurday of each month. It houses many art studios, a hip hop group and I'm sure many more talented people I'll soon discover.
#3 - The building has an awesome history. We are a part of the OK Hotel which was an old music venue. Not only was it in the movie Singles, but it was the venue that first heard Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit"! Seriously. WTF.
Today was our first day in the office and we all had our own projects to work on so we didnt' get to really decorate much but here are some pictures.
It's right next to the viaduct so recording won't be happening much here unless it's in the evening. But it's definitely an option. In other news, my next audio purchase will be Ableton Live, I'm in love with it.

Looks awesome.
Everyone needs a space to search for google boobies. Or in my case, google moobies.

Awesome location! Just watch out for random rioting if you work late weekend nights. The crowds can get pretty rowdy. Super convenient location!

Once the viaduct finally crashes under the strain of that 10.5 earthquake that the Post Intelligencer seems to tell everyone we're gonna get ANY DAY NOW, you'll have waterfront property!

Speaking of which, what is the deal with replacing the viaduct?
Last time I heard, neither of the proposals passed (tunnel or replacing the actual viaduct).

They should replace the viaduct with a horizontal space needle! The 1st of its kind!

LOL, then Seattle would be on the map, just like North Haverbrook.

I think we should replace the viaduct with a unirail to compete with the monorail. A rail powered by unicycles. Green Energy!

I can see all the street entertainers moving to Seattle now to power the unirail.
Of course, when I saw "unirail" I read "urinal". And I thought the viaduct was already a urinal.
