Just a little blargh to announce the release of my new EP, a split program with the North Carolina power duo A Drop In Silence. 50 minutes of music.
Musically, this is the newest of the new from me. 8 Doofgoblin tracks coming in at around 21 minutes and ranging from bloopy melody happy idm marbles to bird beak feedback distechno. Recorded winter 2007 with much appreciation for birds.
I uploaded track 2, "Stoop," to the releases section of the em411.
We pressed an initial run of 250 copies, shrinkwrapped in brown chipboard folder with avian imagery. We are happy to be self-releasing this one.
If it interests you, you can always buy one directly from us. I do requests so if there's something you'd like to see in the envelope with the disc, like a blade of grass, a pressed flower from the yard, or even some cow plops or deer hair, just let me know.
You can order it here: link
Anyway, since this is a blog and should be personal let me personally say that it feels good to release new music. Doesn't it?
Thanks,
John

thanks man
the renovation is going well, thanks for asking. we're still at it pretty much nonstop, every night, all weekends. I think we're about 2 to 3 weeks away from finishing the bathroom, which is good because our lease is up June 1 so we'll have to move in then! so, we should have a bathroom and running water by the time we move in, but that's about it. our cat's going to be pissed. still keeping the blog up to date: permit-the-frog.blogspot.com
so very tired...

house is coming a long. you've done soooo much work. nice job on the drywall. so much to think about and plan ay? just think of the wealth of knowledge you've already amassed about construction and pex pipe and all that shit. pretty awesome. keep at and i'll check your EP asap.

Man.. everytime I check out that blog, I get a little sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I commend you for your "Go For It" attitude. I think you guys are great for doing that. Total thumbs up from me.
AND you've got time to make some very interesting music too!

heh, yeah I get a slightly sick feeling now and again too.. but it is coming along indeed and it really is pretty amazing how much we've learned so far.

thanks! but as for the time part, the tunes for this EP were recorded over the winter and finished up days before we closed on the house. since then I think I've only booted my computer at home maybe a half dozen times. back in the fall, I had booked a couple of shows for April, and when April came around I was like "what the hell was I thinking" but I managed to pull it off and am really glad I had that break in the action (I'll get the video of the set from Signal Fest up when I get some, uh, time). actually, I just agreed to do a DC show next month too. hehe.
